Once again we were on site at around 6:45 this morning. Not much sun but also not much of a breeze so the 43 degrees was quite tolerable.
Like yesterday the birds were not in a mood to be photographed. There were plenty of Swallows buzz-bombing the Arkansas River so I decided to get a shot of one of the little devils in flight. I don’t know what got into me. My plan was to focus my camera on a spot in mid-river where the birds seemed to be having luck feeding and then just hold down my shutter release button and blast away to see what I could capture. Once home I spent a lot of time reviewing (and mostly deleting) the results. A surprising number of frames had no birds present. I got one pathetic shot which is displayed below. I’m going to have to come up with another plan in future.
Sightings:
Birds: Osprey, Starlings, Canada Geese, Robins, Swallows, Kestrel, Mallard Ducks, Orioles, Cormorants
