A cloudy start to the day made me delay until 8 this morning to get to Lake Pueblo State Park. The sun was trying to poke through and the temp was a tolerable 47 degrees.

Not a lot of bird activity again today. I did catch sight of an American Kestrel high up in a tree who appeared to be having breakfast. Sadly, he was too far up for my piddly 200mm lens to capture. What I did get was a shot of a (mother?) Barn Swallow sitting in her nest – presumably on eggs – which is under the eves of an informational kiosk at the Anticline Fishing Pond. I raised the built in flash on my camera but for some reason it did not fire. The result is the not to sharp image below.

Sightings:
Birds: Osprey, Starlings, Canada Geese, Robins, Swallows, Kestrel, Mallard Ducks, Barn Swallow
Critters: None,
