I returned to the trails of Rock Canyon this morning with a companion. I am pet-sitting my son’s dog, Latka, so I am now having to change things up a bit with lighter gear that I can shoot with one hand. I used to be good at one handed shooting, but as you will see in today’s product – I need some more practice. Pretty much all the shots I took were long-shots requiring a lot of cropping. I’m interested to see if I get better over the next couple of weeks. The Green Heron that I have been searching for most of the Summer made an appearance of sorts this morning – I guess it knew that I was ill-equipped to take advantage of the situation.
Sightings:
Birds: Mallards, Double Crested Cormorants, Gulls, Canada Geese, Ospreys, Starlings, Great Blue Herons, Green Heron, Spotted Sandpipers, Blue Jays, Northern Flickers, Killdeer
Critters: Mule Deer, Prairie Dogs, Cottontail Rabbit
