Environment:
Start Time: 7:10 AM Temperature: 72 degrees Sky: Sunshine, few clouds, some haze, moderate/heavy breeze.
Check out last year’s walk on this day!
Wildfire haze was at a reasonably low level this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I was able to actually see the Wet Mountains and Pikes Peak on my way into the park. I think this was mostly due to the really stiff “breeze” that was passing through. Still nice walking weather. Not a lot of bird activity – the Starlings are spending a lot of time in groups flying from treetop to treetop. Today’s featured image is of an Osprey who was actively scouting the Arkansas River (and checking out photographers) but did not make any strikes within camera range. The clearer skies and the nice early morning light allowed me to get a shot of Liberty Point framed in the Summer foliage. I guess the day’s highlight is presented in the two images at the bottom of this post. A Whitetail doe who was hanging with some Mule Deer. She was quite patient with my paparazzi clicking behavior.
