Despite the excellent conditions out on the trail this morning – there was not much action. Every one of this year’s standard Osprey perching spots was vacant. I think I only saw four Osprey total. On the other hand I did see a couple of American Kestrels. The one pictured here and the bird in flight image at bottom are the same bird but there was one other. The Rabbitbrush is blooming now and that is today’s featured image with a bonus appearance of a Cabbage White Butterfly. I also captured the Field Crescent Butterfly pictured below – these guys a really tiny, don’t let this picture fool you.

Birds: Ducks, Mallards, Canada Geese, Gulls, Great Blue Heron, Ospreys, Double Crested Cormorants, Starlings, Barn Swallows, Mourning Doves, Kingbird, Common Grackles, Western Wood Peewee, American Kestrels, American Robins, Crows, Snowy Egret, Yellow Warbler
Critters: Cabbage White Butterflies, Field Crescent Butterfly, Prairie Dogs, Grasshoppers, Mosquitoes, millions of flying bugs
