Environment:Start Time: 3:05 PM Temperature: 55 degrees Sky: Sunshine with few clouds. Today’s outing was another visit to the South shore of the Arkansas River. Birding was not particularly exciting with only brief appearances of what is probably going to be the standard set of avian subjects. I got a couple of shots of a Great Blue Heron and a Killdeer. Fortunately I also brought along my infrared camera which kept me entertained. Environment:Start Time: 9:45 AM Temperature: 46 degrees Sky: Sunshine, high thin clouds, no breeze Much better light this morning though the birding opportunities were about as bad as yesterday. The biggest bird I saw was a distant Osprey. Since the colors were popping I tried to come up with some foliage shots even though I was configured for birding on the GX-85. My best (least worst) shot is the featured image above. I was also carrying my Kolari ZS100 infrared camera this morning and I did get some interesting results with that. Lone Tree on the Prairie

Posted above is a new infrared image that I shot October 10, 2020. This was shot with my Kolari Lumix ZS100 Full Spectrum conversion. The image was shot in Raw format using a custom white balance set in camera using a 590 nm filter pointed at an 18% gray card. Once home I developed the raw file using Affinity Photo adjusting exposure, contrast, black-point, shadows/highlights, lens correction, a touch of sharpening and an S-curve for added contrast.
