Today’s featured image is a Great Blue Heron sitting on the nest I’ve been keeping track of. I’m not sure if this means the nest is active because this is only the second time I’ve seen a heron on site. I’ll keep you posted. Much less cloud cover this morning and maybe a little less wildfire haze. I was not unaware of the warmth as I walked around the park. The Arkansas River was quite high again this morning. Only a couple of Mallards and a Wood Duck couple were brave enough to try their luck on the swift water.
