Environment:Start Time: 5:45 AM Temperature: 39 degrees Sky: Sunshine. Even with the sunshine it was a bit chilly out on the trail this morning. There was a lot of Starling and Dove activity (as usual) but the Osprey were also very active today. Mostly they had somewhere else to be but there was one couple who were enjoying each other – enough said. Environment:Start Time: 8:00 AM Temperature: 34 degrees Sky: Sunshine with slight breeze. It was chilly and lonely out on the trail this morning. So it’s snoozing Pied-billed Grebes for the featured image and a not too in focus shot of a Magpie doing a flyby for a closer. By my calculations the Osprey are around two weeks away. I hope they come early. Sightings:Birds: Pied-billed Grebe, Common Goldeneye, buffleheads, Canada Geese, Gulls, Starlings, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, American Coots, Black-capped Chickadee, Blue Jay, Magpie,…

Another early start had us on the trail this morning with mostly sunny skies and a little toasty 65 degree temperature. Summer is starting to rear its ugly head. As the temps continue to rise each morning I will be forced to start rolling out of bed even earlier. One advantage with arriving early is the chance to get some great prairie landscape sunrise shots like today’s featured image. Three notable events emerged from today’s outing. Probably the most exciting was spotting a young Great Horned Owl perched in a tree just checking things out. I think this is only…
