Environment:Start Time: 8:20 AM Temperature: 64 degrees Sky: Sunny, few clouds, moderate breeze Crazy warm this morning. Don’t know if it was this “heat” but there was not a lot happening along the Arkansas River today. I did see a Red-Tailed Hawk circling high in the sky. While I stood hoping s/he would coast my way I noticed that s/he was not alone up there. A smaller bird was vigorously harassing the hawk. There was a wide variety of birds this morning most of whom had better things to do than pose for my camera. I chased a marauding band of Bushtits who were pillaging the rabbitbrush along the bank of the Arkansas River. Those suckers are quick. Environment:Start Time: 12:30 PM Temperature: 46 degrees Sky: Sunny, few clouds, light breeze After several days of dicey weather and a rather cold morning I finally managed to make it out to Lake Pueblo State Park this afternoon. Gorgeous day for walking about. Apparently it was not such a great day for flying about – since the avian activity was very subdued.
