Environment:Start Time: 9:35 AM Temperature: 40 degrees Sky: Sunny, light (cold) breeze Walking today would have been perfect except to the breeze zooming in from the East which packed a considerable chill. But the birds seemed unconcerned and were going about their business as usual. The osprey were active again today – not with nesting – but with fishing. A cloudy start to the day made me delay until 8 this morning to get to Lake Pueblo State Park. The sun was trying to poke through and the temp was a tolerable 47 degrees. Not a lot of bird activity again today. I did catch sight of an American Kestrel high up in a tree who appeared to be having breakfast. Sadly, he was too far up for my piddly 200mm lens to capture. Once again we were on site at around 6:45 this morning. Not much sun but also not much of a breeze so the 43 degrees was quite tolerable. Like yesterday the birds were not in a mood to be photographed. There were plenty of Swallows buzz-bombing the Arkansas River so I decided to get a shot of one of the little devils in flight. I don’t know what got into me. My plan was to focus my camera on a spot in mid-river where the birds seemed to be having luck feeding and then just hold down my shutter release…
