Environment:Start Time: 3:00 PM Temperature: 57 degrees Sky: Sunshine. Walking in the afternoons this time of year is certainly more pleasant than in the frosty mornings. Thing is, I just don’t seem to see (or capture) as many birds. Although I did see a pretty good variety of birds tonight not many were inclined to pose for me. I was lucky enough to capture the Belted Kingfisher who is today’s featured image. He (pretty sure it was a male) blasted past me in a big hurry. Environment:Start Time: 8:05 AM Temperature: 42 degrees Sky: Sunny, high clouds, light breeze November is starting to return with cooler morning temperatures. I’m sure it won’t be long until I am walking regularly in the afternoons. Today produced an even mix of big and small birds with neither size making a real effort to be captured by my camera. I saw a (probably the same one as yesterday) Red-Tailed Hawk perched high in a tree way across the river. I did the best I could with what was offered. For excitement I saw that the Bufflehead Ducks are starting to…

Environment:Start Time: 1:35 PM Temperature: 53 degrees Sky: Sunny, no clouds, noticeable breeze A long four-day stretch of wicked cold and snow that has kept me stuck at home finally broke today. I made it out to the river after lunch and was surprised to find the trails much drier than I had expected. Dry trails were not the only surprise that greeted me this afternoon.
