There was a lot of bird/wildlife activity but practically no one had time to pose. Except for the little Wren who took pity on me and stood still for a couple of seconds – earning it the featured image spot. Actually the Wren was the only bird I shot today. Gloomy clouds almost made me take the day off this morning but I decided to give it a try hoping the Sun would fight its way through the clouds. Old Sol didn’t put up much of a fight but occasionally I could see distinct shadows. Still I’m glad I made it to the Arkansas River because I got a new bird! We arrived this morning at 7:10 because I was waiting for the sun to overpower an eastern cloud bank. It eventually managed to poke a ray or two of sunshine through the clouds and then struggled throughout the walk to provide steady light. Even with the late start the temperature was 61 degrees. All in all an excellent climate for a walk by the river. From the photography stand point the day was less than stellar.
