Walking conditions were much better this morning but birding conditions remain disappointing. I think yesterday’s wind blew away all the little birds. The bigger birds were keeping their distance today. The image posted below is an example of the kind of distance I’m talking about. I took the shot in hopes of at least making an ID of the largish bird I saw perched in the distant tree. I don’t usually post ID photos but this one is kind of intriguing because when I cropped in on my computer that big guy sort of looks like a juvenile Bald Eagle. Kind of a tough call. Today’s featured image is that of a White-crowned Sparrow (who was much closer) and I’m wondering if he is looking up or down?

Sightings:
Birds: Ducks, Gulls, Canada Geese, Belted Kingfisher, Great Blue Heron, Red-tailed Hawk, American Bald Eagle (possible), Pied-billed Grebe, White-crowned Sparrow, Black-capped Chickadee
Critters: Prairie Dogs, Grasshoppers

Gear: Nikon D5600, 55-200mm

American Bald Eagle (?) at Lake Pueblo State Park, Colorado November 14, 2021. The inset photo on the lower right is an extreme cropping of the bird in the tree of the main photo. Really can’t make a positive ID but that schnoz in the close up looks like Eagle Beak to me.
