Today’s most photographed (and patient) bird is the Great Blue Heron preparing to strike (featured above) and the same bird pictured here wading along. I took a lot of shots of this Heron since my walk was nearly complete and all I had on my memory card was the Osprey at the bottom of this post. On my way out a Double Crested Cormorant decided to dry off before leaving the river which allowed me to add a little variety to this post.

Birds: Ducks, Mallards, Blue-winged Teals, Canada Geese, Great Blue Heron, Ospreys, Double Crested Cormorants, Starlings, Barn Swallows, Mourning Doves, Blue Jay, Northern Flickers, Gray Kingbird (possible), Common Grackles
Critters: Cabbage White Butterflies, Prairie Dogs, Grasshoppers, Mosquitoes, Tree Squirrel, millions of flying bugs
