Another reasonably clear morning provided great walking conditions. Not a great amount of activity once again. Today’s featured image is a Western Kingbird who was posing nicely on a branch but decided to leave to grab a bite just as I released the camera shutter. Just a lucky shot but it came out great! Another bird I caught in flight is posted below – an Osprey really pulled the same stunt on me and took off just as I was shooting. The image caption will give you the reason he decided to leave. I also managed to find the now world famous Mississippi Kite not sitting directly above the trail but a little bit away from the trail. This is the best shot I’ve gotten of it. Also posted is another shot of a Widow Skimmer (dragonfly-like bug) – the insects are being more cooperative than the birds.
