You would be hard-pressed to say that we are in the middle of a holiday weekend by the amount of (non) activity out at Lake Pueblo State Park. Not that I mind – except that the birds seem to also be avoiding the park. One highlight of this morning was the lingering presence of a left-over Super Moon hanging in the sky at a pretty nice angle. I kept running across situations where a really nice perching branch lined up nicely with the moon. Only problem – no sexy bird was perched on those branches. Finally I got the shot at bottom – not exactly the most glamorous of subjects but they were there. Other subjects for the day are a Great Horned Owl (who snubbed me) and a rather soggy and bummed out looking Osprey who seemed kind of frazzled on its perch. Probably has a story about the one the got away. Fortunately I had examined the sky before leaving my house and since there were some nice clouds in the morning sky I brought along my infrared camera. Today’s featured image (top) is one of the prairie scenes I shot of one of my favorite trees. Yes, I have favorite trees.
