Environment:Start Time: 8:35 AM Temperature: 56 degrees Sky: Sun, clouds and increasing breeze. Today I decided it was time to head out on the trail with my “Scenery” rig. This is something that always makes me a little nervous since I figure all the birds will come out and play canasta since they know I am ill prepared to capture the action. But the birds were quiet and I noticed the colors are starting to get a bit muted as well. I probably should have done this a couple of days ago. But I did get some pretty colorful shots…

Environment:Start Time: 8:25 AM Temperature: 50 degrees Sky: Sunny. Cooler (50 degrees) and calmer (not a hint of a breeze) this morning at Lake Pueblo State Park. I really saw a good variety of birds out on the trail but very few were willing to come close and pose for me. I was surprised by the appearance of an Osprey and a Double Crested Cormorant. My only bird capture is today’s featured image – a Townsend’s Solitaire. Weather outlook for tomorrow is not good but I hope the colorful leaves make it through. Environment:Start Time: 3:35 PM Temperature: 40 degrees Sky: Sun: 1 Clouds: 0 Kind of a cold afternoon but since I’ve been cooped up for two days I decided to go for it. Once again I misjudged what proper attire should be. I finished the whole two miles but as I write this 1.5 hours after returning home I am still cold. Tomorrow is forecast to be warmer. Despite all my suffering this outing was a huge success tinged with a little sadness. Today’s featured image (above) is an American Bald Eagle marking (for me) the official opening of Eagle Season….

Environment:Start Time: 9:45 AM Temperature: 39 degrees Sky: Cloud and Sun with an unwelcome breeze. Rather a crisp morning for today’s outing that was not exactly enhanced by the pesky breeze that joined me for the tour. Not much going on at all – not even many fishermen on the river. I did manage to get a pretty good shot of a White-crowned Sparrow but I am afraid if I post it one or both of my regular readers will come to my house and break my camera. So for the featured image I am posting a digitally enhanced Autumn…

Environment:Start Time: 8:45 AM Temperature: 39 degrees Sky: Cloud filtered sunshine, little breeze The Autumn Color has been fading of late so I thought I’d take one last stab at capturing some of it before it vanishes completely. From the looks of things I’d say I was about one day late. But I gave it my best and have posted two of my captures. Above, as featured image, is a shot of the North bank of the Arkansas River shot at the bend near the old Highway 96 bridge. This is one of those scenes that I keep an eye…
